Hello beautiful people! My name is Korina Dernella Ramharrack, better known as Korina Dernella. I’m 20 years old currently studying Marketing at LIM college (Laboratory Institute or Merchandising), even though I’m majoring in marketing I’ll be receiving my bachelor’s degree in business administration with the goal of pursuing a career in Public Relations.
I identify as an Indo-Trinidadian being that my parents are from Trinidad, however my great grandfathers both come from India therefore I choose to stay in touch with my roots. Ever since I was a little girl I’ve been obsessed with Bollywood and dancing, I used to mimic the actresses such as Aishwarya, Madhuri, Hema Malini and Katrina as they were dancing in the movies and as I got older I fell in love with the Indian culture and shortly after I fell even more in love with the Indo-Caribbean culture. I’m a self taught dancer who’s been dancing for the last 10 years and performing on and off for the last 8 years. I’ve come a long way as a dancer and performer and for me dance is definitely a passion of mine so much so that I turned my love of dancing into a business, in the last few years I’ve gotten opportunities to teach others and along with teaching I’ve gotten countless opportunities to showcase my talents on different stages and events which I am beyond grateful for.
To add on to my list of businesses; I recently launched my own entertainment group (Tridevi Entertainment) where I help other dancers and artists gain exposure in the community, and then I also have a small clothing line by the name of Desi Dripp, which I launched it in 2020 and ever since I’ve been designing and selling. Desi Dripp combines my love for Bollywood and business into one, I design modern day clothing with Bollywood or “desi” influences hence the name Desi Dripp.
Along the way I of course experienced many trials and tribulations however I always found a way to overcome them and I’d like to think it was thanks to God and the universe. It’s always the darkest before the dawn and there’s a saying that I absolutely LOVE; “it’s saying that if you truly desire something with all your heart the universe will work towards getting you that.” I heard this quote in the film “Om Shanti Om” where Shahrukh’s character Om made an acceptance speech after winning an award. Things always work out in divine timing and I believe with true dedication, love and faith anyone can get what they truly want in life. As Om said; “Picture Abhi Bhaki Hai Mere Dost” which translates to; this movie isn’t over yet my friend. As much as I’ve accomplished in my life thus far there is still so much more to come and I’m so grateful to be apart of this amazing journey!
